Having your own business can give some bitter lessons, but for vegan entrepreneur, Nia Froome, 17, it was some sweet success.

Ms. Froome won the OppenheimerFunds/Network for teaching entrepreneurship contest.  She began veganizing baked goods 10 years ago when her mother became vegan during a battle with cancer.  Ms. Froome took the idea of Mrs. Field’s Cookies and created Mamma Nia’s Vegan Bakery.  Not only did she win a $10,000 prize, but she had a meeting with President Obama and discussed her business plan.

She will use the prize money not only to fund her education, but as a donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.  That’s some frosting on the cake.
