Help Place a Salad Bar in Your School Cafeteria

salad barThe USDA recenty approved placement of salad bars in elementary school cafeterias. This allows all schools to offer more fruits and vegetables during breakfast or lunch when previously there was concern that young children would create dangerous sanitation issues. First Lady Michelle Obama, supported this change for salad bars as part of her Let’s Move Campaign to counter childhood obesity.

Make sure salad bars are part of your child’s school cafeteria by working with the food service manager and providing support. While the approval for salad bars was accomplished, funding must be done by each school or district.
