vegetarian nutrition student essay contestWant to win $100 and promote vegetarian nutrition?

Enter our student essay contest! In the last decade the availability of vegetarian foods has increased greatly as has our knowledge of the environmental and health benefits of vegetarian diets. There are more reasons than ever to be a vegetarian. But a 2006 poll by the Vegetarian Resource Group showed that only 2.3 percent of the US population is vegetarian. The question is: What should be the role of the Vegetarian Nutrition DPG in educating the public about the benefits of a vegetarian diet? Discuss specific strategies.

There is a 1000-word limit and essays are due October 1st. Please send as an email attachment to , Student Member Coordinator. Winners will be announced at the 2008 FNCE in Chicago (winner does not need to be present). The winning essay will be printed in an issue of the Vegetarian Nutrition newsletter.

Contest open only to VN DPG student members.
