VN DPG Web Editor

VN is seeking enhanced organization for the on-going management of web communication with VN members. The responsible party would interface with Empowered Media LLC who holds the current web maintenance contract and who will continue to manage web coding, site design, and VN-DPG updates.

Communication would take place electronically on Vegetariannutrition.net, the official ADA website of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. Web content would reflect the VN Strategic Plan with attention to current Vision and Mission priorities.

The VN web editor would assist the chair, the executive committee and ADA's practice manager team liaison with the updated and ongoing support needed for web based communication and notification of members.

The web work will include but not be limited to the following tasks:

Coordinate and update topics monthly; providing Empowered Media LLC with copy, according to an agreed upon timeframe
Organize and edit content, providing it to Empowered Media LLC for format and layout, according to an agreed upon timeframe
Oversee final proof of work for uploads
Communicate with authors and reviewers to follow up on submissions with acceptance, rejection or editing suggestions
Create and implement a plan for development of additional content areas on the website, consistent with VN strategic plan
Update and identify location on website for publications, reports, newsletters, etc.
Collect and summarize yearly on-line membership survey
Work with Empowered Media LLC to ensure contracts are in place for the upcoming year
Design and deliver member and list-serve e-blasts
Handle any web-related inquiries and web-related projects as necessary, in conjunction with Empowered Media LLC
Upon termination, professional transfer of all files and records to VN Executive Board

Web editor qualifications:

Willingness to become a member of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group, if not a member already
Demonstrate a solid understanding of vegetarian and vegan nutrition and lifestyle
Demonstrate experience and expertise in creating and editing website content
Provide 2 professional references
Provide compensation requirements

This position is subject to quarterly review by the VN Executive Board.
